Battle chasers nightwar ultimate armor11/29/2023 ![]() Her dodge is very finicky, as trying to get that much dodge on her means her damage may drop a bit. HOWEVER, to spec her in such a way to do that is ALOT more time consuming. Part of that comes from her ability to dodge. Monika from what I've seen, is an off tank/dodge tank. Garrison is all about the damage, from direct hits, crits, and bleeds. Gully tanks, applies some damage and applies debuffs. Bretto heals, applies damage and debuffs. I still run the original core trio of Bretto, Gully, and Garrison. Why is it important in my opinion for her to be a tank? Because almost no one else in the cast can tank like she can. Why? Her taunt is VERY handy to have, and her abilities help her tank and draw aggro. Gully I still have as my main tank even in New Game +. That's why I think Gully's has a key-role in a party, too bad Alumon doesn't have anything similar. Life leech can't compare to a character fully built around that, it costs way more (more consumable used, less sustainability during dungeons, ecc.) and you have to hope your HPs are enough in case things go south. Well taunt can make some fights bearable, especially against hard-hitting enemies or against debuffers: considering Gully has a high HP pool, they focus her with debuffs but she can take them. The only one that hits hard enough that you might want to have a dedicated tank is the last boss, and 90% of that boss abilities hits in AoE so taunt's not going to help anyway. Initially I thought that, beign Gully the main character, she has the abilities to tank to make her mandatory in every party composition. Or, to be more accurate, to have a character able to control the enemies' "damage flow". One of these abilities is indeed "Taunt". I'm playing this awesome game for a while and, after recruiting Alumon I've noticed how important is to have certain abilities in your party, especially considering there is not a "aggro meter".
